Crusaders Of The Lost Idols Wikia

Holddoor is the new Crusader in the fourth tier of the A Song of Thrones Event. Where once he may have had the chance to live a normal life, thanks to some tinkering of the fates it seems that it is now Holddoor's destiny to hold the door — only now, he won't let it go!

Holddoor is a Tank Crusader who supports the party by standing at the front of the formation and holding the door against all enemies. Monsters are drawn to him through his Focus ability, and once there are at least 5 of them he will Stand Strong and start to heal himself. He increases DPS with Protection, gains damage reduction when he becomes Scarred, and is able to dramatically increase DPS through his Loyalty and Hold the Door abilities. And did we mention there's a Paradox where Holddoor will cause White Runners to appear, run into enemies, and explode?

As of May 27, 2019 Stand Strong requires only 5 enemies attacking to heal.

Strategies[view] [edit] [history] [purge]

  • Polly the Parrot's "Got a Cracker!" upgrade can reduce the time it takes monsters to reach your formation causing Holddoor's "Hold the Door" ability to start gaining stacks in earlier areas.
    • Red, the Ace Pilot's "Cover" upgrade causes monsters attacking Holddoor to take more damage as long as Red is next to or in the column behind Holddoor
    • If you can get Groklok in the same column as Holddoor his "Defensive Team" ability will increase your DPS for each monster attacking Holddoor
      • If you can fit The Dark Helper in then the formation DPS will increase when Holddoor is under attack
      • If you can fit Jason as well his DPS will increase when Holddoor's is being attacked thanks to his Ambush ability
    • Paul's Well Armed Militia ability increases your formation's DPS whenever it is under attack.
    • Deathpuddle's DPS increases while the formation is under attack upto ~64b% after 50 seconds
    • An advanced strategy is to have Mindy in the front most column copying Holddoor and Jack.
  • Drosenthes's "Slow Digestion" triggering at 50% health and healing 50% of max health can help to trigger Holddoor's Scarred ability more often.
  • In general, Loyalty affects any Formation Ability that buffs DPS, unless it buffs global DPS.
  • Loyalty specifies that it only applies to the final result of the affected DPS buff (as opposed to increasing each stack of a multiplicative, multi-stack ability). As a result, Loyalty has a greater impact when there are more eligible Formation Abilities affecting his target(s), instead of fewer abilities that are stronger or have many stacks.
  • Similar to Gwendolyn's Pack Master, but unlike other crusader spawns, the Wight Striders from Paradox can reward area quest progress when they die. Since they automatically die when they reach the formation (instead of requiring DPS), it is possible to complete non-boss areas by letting Wight Striders continually spawn and die without killing any normal monsters.
