Kris, the Enraged Elemental is the new Crusader in the fifth tier of the The Nate Before Christmas Event. Kris brings all the buffs to the formation you've come to expect from an angry tree: they reduce damage for Crusaders the furthest from them with True North, they are able to redirect angry monsters away from them with their Decorations, and they increase party damage with Festering Foliage.

But that's not all: the Fresh Air that Kris brings increases Global DPS for each Flora Crusader in the formation, including Kris, and they are able to increase the maximum health of Crusaders with Forest Furor. Take Root prevents your DPS and Click Damage from dropping, while Winter Vigil can revive your formation once per area to save the day!

Kris-ing is a strategy that use the Take root ability to clear areas past your normal limit. Take root records your max DPS and CLK for an area even when Kris is not in the formation which sets the max DPS/CLK.

Switching to a formation containing Kris maintains your max DPS/CLK reached. As such you do not need to use any buffers/ DPS-ers in the Kris formation. Instead you can construct a practically invulnerable formation.

This lets you advance about 15 areas past your normal limit. At that point you will no longer be able to damage bosses even with abilities such as Fire Storm (The Princess) or Winter Vigil (Kris, the Enraged Elemental).

Steps to use the strategy:

1. Create a Glass cannon formation that maximizes DPS/CLK. No need for healers, tanks,shooters unless used as buffers
2. Creat a Kris formation containing Kris (in the last column) and special crusaders (see list below)
3. Wait until the formation Glass cannon formation reaches the max DPS (Mindy for example needs 10 seconds to activate mimic) and move to the next area to clear
4. Switch to the Kris formation, wait until you have cleared the area
5. Switch back to Glass cannon formation and repeat from step 3

• Speed Crusaders
• Special damage crusaders: Agent 79 (Ricochet and Explosion), Gemthel (shooters and increased activation chance), Gloria (extra damage to polymorphed monsters) , Fright-o-Tron (reduced monster health and explosion on death)
• Defense crusaders: 1st healer, tank (Greyskull, shooter bonus), 2nd healer (Gloria, polymorph bonus), tank buffer (Dark Gryphon)
• Ability crusaders: Monkey, The Princess, Lion, Thalia
