Odile, Snowflake Defender is the new Crusader in the sixth tier of the The Nate Before Christmas Event.
In the Realm of Berwin, Odile was the first-born daughter of Queen Odessa and King Ambros. The Realm of Berwin, also known as the Domain of Winter, was one of the four realms dedicated to fighting the dark spirits of the otherrealm and protecting the spirits of the seasons. Not only were the royal family of Berwin already strong ice magic users, but when Odile was born, the Spirit of Winter itself appeared and bestowed some of its magic upon her.
As she grew up, Odile began training in secret with her mother, but it soon became apparent that her powers were much stronger than Odessa's, even in one so young. Whispers of Odile's power made their way to the otherrealm where the Spirit of Destruction, Glut, had been resting for many years. Glut sent minions out to investigate the rumours surrounding Odile. One small shadow spirit succeeded and brought the news to its master.
Glut attacked the realm of Berwin, laying waste to the area as he made his way to capture Odile, bringing an air of blight to the once pristine world. Odessa and Ambros managed to hold off the first wave of dark spirits, but Glut had grown in power in its time away. To buy some time and save their people, the royals decided to send Odile away, wiping her memory and transporting her to Earth. Craving the power within, Glut abandoned its siege and followed Odile's trail through the realms though it would take time to find her.
Odile, now living with her new glamoured family as Odette, continued to grow up and lead a normal, mundane life. But Glut's minions eventually stumbled into the right realm and found the missing princess, causing the Spirit of Winter to break the seal her parents had placed. Odile remembered her powers, her family, and with her memories regained, she stepped into her role of Snowflake Defender, ready to help the Crusaders on their quest.

- Odile's abilities overlap with several other unique abilities. Hippo Snowflake Freeze has an identical buff to Bruno's Marvelous Gold, although the stacking methods are very different. Quad Loop of Death is an Upgrade Buff, although it is the only such ability that is not in seat 35, and has a condition to be activated. Pristine Avalanche Sculpture has a similar effect to The Evanescent's The Great Equalizer, although it grants the tags to different targets. Additionally, Heavenly Freezing Delight shares the formation-wide unconditional healing of Bruno's Let My Horn Heal You. All of these utilities can make Odile a useful crusader for a variety of objectives.
- Although Quad Loop of Death can be stacked with Upgrade Buffs from seat 35, this is generally not very useful because they stack additively. For example, if both Quad Loop of Death at 500% and Mead Powered at 250% target the same crusader, that crusader's upgrades will be increased by only 750%. As a result, if seat 35 is available, it is generally a lower priority to activate Quad Loop of Death.
- For sharing base tags, Odile is generally preferred over The Evanescent since she has many more tags of her own to share and it is usually easier to work with the adjacent targeting. However, since Pristine Avalanche Sculpture only shares tags with adjacent crusaders, Odile herself is not granted these tags by default. This may make Evanescent more useful for specific formations and goals.
- Unlike Bruno's Marvelous Gold, Hippo Snowflake Freeze has gear to increase its buff, up to 3% per stack at legendary. This can make Odile's buff stronger earlier on; however, Bruno only requires a level 6 rune in his slot 5 to exceed this. Additionally, Odile usually cannot gain stacks without slowing down or halting progression, which often makes Bruno preferable regardless of the DPS loss. Also Bruno's event is directly after Odile's.
- Hippo Snowflake Freeze must be stacked by killing bosses with projectiles. Since projectiles cannot fire while instantly killing, this necessitates slowing down in order to stack, either by stopping entirely or by progressing with barely enough DPS/CLK for each boss. If you choose to stop entirely, then making a zero DPS form with Dr. Evil, PhD will be helpful to keep low-area bosses alive for the projectile.
- Odile's Hippo Snowflake Freeze will also gain stacks from hippos that are fired by Mindy or Torakichi (assuming they kill a boss). It is possible for a projectile to be wasted in this case if both projectiles are fired at the same boss, so it can be beneficial to desync their projectiles by temporarily disabling Odile's Hippo Snowflake Freeze. By stacking with both projectiles and without wasting any, it will take 62.5 minutes to gain 1500 stacks.
- A very particular glitch can be used to gain stacks faster. If the game is closed on a boss area then launched again, then pressing either Upgrade All or Level All will cause another boss to spawn, even if the current boss is still alive. This gives multiple targets for the projectiles to target, which allows Agent 79's Ricochet to bounce the hippo projectiles between all of these bosses (the glitched-in bosses count, and the projectiles still count after Ricocheting), although Agent 79's Explosive Ammo must be disabled. (Changing areas will remove the glitch, so re-launching will be required again. The Bossing Around talent must be maxed at level 2 for this method; without it, each Upgrade/Level All press will spawn another wave of monsters instead of the boss.)
